Financial statements

We will work with you and your finance team to prepare statutory accounts that comply with all regulatory requirements applicable to the size and complexity of your business, whether this be in accordance with UK GAAP, International Financial Reporting Standards or any other framework that may be appropriate.

Our approach and involvement will depend on the quality of the financial information presented to us, but the scope and nature of our work will always be agreed with you in advance. We always agree a time-frame for the assignment and keep you updated as our work progresses, and we always keep an eye-out for any areas of improvement to your processes, systems and controls to ensure that we can pass on any efficiency or performance improvements to better enhance your reporting moving forward.

Companies House Filings

It is important that Companies House are kept up to date with all legal filings. This includes the company’s annual confirmation statement and the register of persons with significant control (“PSCs”), but also includes ad hoc filings where there are changes to directors, a new charge is registrable, an existing charge is satisfied, or there are changes to the registered office address (to name just a few). We can assist your business with the most common filing requirements at Companies House.

A note on recent and future changes

There are new legal requirements at Companies House that require all directors, LLP members and PSCs to verify their ID with Companies House. This requires each director to register for a gov.uk One Login and provide a biometric passport or UK photo driving licence, together with details and evidence of their home address. Additional verification options are available if the above cannot be provided for any reason.

Expected before the end of 2026 is a requirement that any person submitting documents on behalf of a company will also be required to have their identity verified with Companies House, or be a Companies House authorised agent. Iambe Advisory are already registered as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (“ACSP”) which means that we will be able to continue to file documents on your behalf once these new regulations come into effect.

Tax Returns

Tax is probably the single biggest headache for most entities. Nobody enjoys paying taxes, but they are a fact of business life that cannot be ignored. The number of tax returns required by a business can vary, although the most typical ones include:

  • Corporation tax returns.

  • Self-assessment returns for sole-traders, partnerships and business owners.

  • VAT returns – monthly, quarterly or annually;

  • PAYE returns under RTI – monthly and annually.

We have experience in preparing, reviewing and submitting all the above returns, and have the necessary proficiency to ensure the returns are compliant with HMRC guidelines.
